RELATED LINKS • Fracture Appointment • Free Scoliosis Screening • What it Scoliosis		At The Center for Pediatric Orthopaedics and Scoliosis, one of our primary services is the treatment of scoliosis. Our fellowship trained orthopedic surgeons are specially trained in the treatment of scoliosis in pediatric and adolescent patients. Our primary goal is to prevent progression and worsening of scoliosis. This is done by frequent monitoring for progression and bracing if the curve progresses. Fortunately, most children simply require a periodic x-ray to monitor for any progression of the spinal curvature and do not require bracing or surgery. However, if surgery is required, it is performed at Banner Children’s Hospital where we have established a comprehensive program utilizing a multidisciplinary approach including pediatric anesthesiologists, state-of-the-art, real-time intra-operative monitoring of spinal cord functions. We also employ modern blood loss prevention techniques to reduce the likelihood of transfusion and, a 24/7 post-operative pediatric pain team, as well as, physical therapy to get your child back on their feet quickly and safely.
